PyroweederFlame Weeder

I am a metal fabricator and I have to say I was pleased with the quality of construction. Also the instruction assembly sheet was very well done. In today's world of poorly made products, it was a pleasure to see someone who cares about quality.

This tool works great compared to a handheld single torch weeder, and the flame blade does an excellent job at directing the heat exactly where it needs to go without harming the crops. I can get it VERY close to the plants without flaming them. The only thing I want to mention is that the plastic wheels are a major oversight for a flame weeder. By day 2 of using this thing the wind caught it just right and before I knew it one of the wheels was melting off. Now I can't use it until I replace the wheel with something that won't melt.

My pyroweeder arrived quickly, was well packaged, and was not missing any parts; these days that alone is impressive. The parts that arrived were high quality and fit together perfectly.

I had been searching high and low on how to prepare my 1 acre property for planting new grass without using chemicals before I discovered the Pyroweeder. I used the Pyroweeder to kill the weeds twice over a week period, then I tilled the ground, dragged a crate behind my riding mower to level and smooth it, seeded the yard, then used a 250lb roller and tow behind rakes to bed the seeds in the dirt.

I was going to sell the weeder once I got the lawn started but I realized I could burn my Bermuda each year to kill the weeds without harming the grass so I will keep it instead.

Two things would make it perfect:

1 - The metal holder for the propane tank cuts into the paint of the propane tank especially when a 30lb tank is mounted. I would recommend rubber covers over the holder so that it would not be metal on metal.

2 - It would be trivial to offer a two kit for the Pyroweeder so that I can tow it behind my riding mower, it even already has the screw holes for it. I will probably make one myself for future use but a simple kit that lets you remove the hand and hook it to a riding mower would be great.

We love it but after we use it for 5 minutes the wheels start to melt. It gets so hot that because the wheels are plastic and are in close proximity to the torches, it melts the wheels. If you guys could replace the wheels with metal inflation free tires then it would be fine. Otherwise, I'll have to keep stopping after five minutes to adjust the plastic wheels back into their original shape and let them cool down. It just doesn't seem like that is going to work for us and now I will have to buy my own metal wheels to make this flame weeder work.

The ordering and delivery was a breeze. Even putting it together was an easy process with good directions. Very good quality materials. I was a little bit scared of firing it up. But once I did it went well. I tried a small area and tho I didn’t think I did a good job…the next day the weeds had turned brown and were dead. I plan to use it mostly for killing driveway weeds at this time of the year. I hope this replaces using roundup. When the weather cools off I have a garden to start. I will update my review when I have a chance to fully use the pyroweeder and can gauge how much propane /hrs. of use. So far I am pleased with the purchase inspite of the sticker shock of how much it costs.

I purchase and assemble a lot of different products, but have never assembled a product as well designed, implemented and constructed as the pyroweeder. The assembly instructions and attention to detail in all aspects of this equipment is quite remarkable. So far, I have limited experience using the pyroweeder and am still dialing in the best angle of attack of the flame tubes and gas pressure to maximize effectiveness. It is an awesome piece of equipment!

The parts are made to exacting standards. This made for easy assembly. The manual was very well written in pkain simple easy to understand english. Using the Pyroweeder is easy on the body. The Pyroweeder is adjustable for the operator. I will buy from Farmers Friend again.

Ordered and received in good time but have not got the chance to use yet the only think I would maybe do different is maybe make the bottle carrier, so you didn't have to strap in other than that looks good just waiting to be able to use Thanks Dwayne

I like the product but it took quite a bit of time for it to arrive.
