In the weeks after what was perhaps the worst hurricane to ever hit the United States, Farmer’s Friend reached out to the farmers of Western North Carolina and offered to reduce the price of their greenhouse materials by 50%. All three of our greenhouses were damaged by falling trees and we were able to purchase replacement plastic and repair supplies at a tremendous discount. Farmer’s Friend helped farmers at a time of critical need and we are deeply appreciative.

Despite the two strong windstorms that caused so much damage here in Maine, our hoophouse rode out the storms with minimal damage, even though its plastic is beyond the expiration date. Figuring it was time, I ordered covering from Farmers Friend for re-skinning later this year (ideally in October, before we move the hoophouse over the winter harvest plots) and to have just in case we aren't as lucky in the next windstorms. Lower cost and free shipping were key to my decision to purchase from Farmers Friend. Now, I can't vouch for the plastic just yet, but I was impressed by the speed at which the roll arrived via UPS. FF is wonderful!! In a recent storm, we were left with a 100’x16’ gothic tunnel ripped and shredded from wind and rains. I called Farmers Friend and they let me know that storm-damaged products are replaceable at half off! This saved us over $600, and the replacement parts and a beautiful new piece of 130’ fabric came in less than a week, right before Christmas!! We were so relieved to be able to get the new plastic up with new rope and a new zipper door before the severe cold set in the following week. Thank you, FF!!
